ABOUT THE ARTIST
About esther - local norfolk artist
As a child I wasn’t encouraged to study art. In fact my parents were academics and thought Art was the easy option! I now know differently!
I founded and ran a greeting card publishing company for 23 years and I believe that all the contact with photographers, designers, illustrators, artists and wordsmiths unlocked my yearning to be creative. I loved having the creative input into the design of every card we produced. After I finally retired I joined a local art group and my first attempts were dire but I now know that art is a lifelong journey and, like most things in life, you have to put the effort in if you want to achieve the results! So I aim to go into my studio every day to do something creative even if it is only doodling on a scrap piece of paper or tidying up the mess I make when painting! |
My inspiration
My inspiration comes from so many different sources. I am so lucky to live in the beautiful county of Norfolk with its vast skies, spectacular sunsets and miles of beautiful sandy beaches.
I love animals too and particularly two adorable donkeys who I visit with treats every day.

Media
I enjoy experimenting with different media - acrylic, oil, pastel, watercolour, collage and really anything I can lay my hands on! My work tends to be realistic although I have been trying a looser and more abstract approach recently. I will try my hand at painting almost any subject.
